We are so proud to announce the release of our fourth album, DIG! A big thank you to everyone who celebrated with us on Friday. DIG! is 10 songs continuing the Voodoo Jazz tradition of blending styles from soul to funk to afro to jazz. It is now available on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play. You can also stream it on Spotify or Apple Music. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as as we enjoyed making it.
For almost 20 years, we have had the privilege of playing music we love for enthusiastic audiences, melding our diverse influences into a tasty musical gumbo. We have been blessed with the opportunity to play with some outstanding musicians, all of whom have contributed to the evolution of the Voodoo Jazz sound and this, our fourth album, stands on their shoulders. We are proud to continue to make music that moves. Enjoy!
We are excited to officially announce the launch party for our fourth album, Dig! Please join us and some very special guests at O Patro Výš on the 11th of November. We have put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into Dig! and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
A big thank you to everyone who took part in our live recording. Having you there helped us create something special, we hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did. The recording was such a success that we are planning to combine our previously recorded material with several of the live tracks to create a full length album for release in the Fall.
We are currently mixing the tracks from the session and we are looking to have the final versions ready during the summer.
We are taking the summer to write some new material so we won’t be playing any shows until August.

What a productive summer! New songs, a new member and a new direction.
For the first time in our history, Voodoo Jazz is rocking a full-time singer. Welcome to the Voodoo, Joe Hackl.
With his killer voice, serious lyrics, and dedicated song writing, Joe has added a new dimension to the Voodoo Jazz sound. Look out him rocking the mic at our next show.
We also had to bid a fond farewell to Sylvain this summer. After helping Voodoo Jazz rise like a phoenix, he is off to bigger and better things. Our new EP which is due to be out next spring. With and exciting new sound, it’s going to be big! Look out for our upcoming shows in May and August.
After a hiatus of a couple of years…They’re back!…The bad boys of the Montreal Jazz scene…6 guys with a simple mission: finding and delivering the Groove, right to your ear holes! No compromises, no excuses, no apologies. With the unequaled Joe Hackl on voice & guitar, the subtle Christian Miervaldis Rumney Ingelevics on drums, the slick chick magnet Phillip Chown on bass, the uncontrollable alto & tenor player Jesse Meyer and the tender-heart brute, Alex Daneau on tenor and baritone saxes, Voodoo Jazz is back!
